For a second there we forgot that the release of Yooka-Laylee was pushed back to Q1 2017. Now, of course we want the end product to be the best it can be, but damn if this new look at the game doesn't conjure up blissful memories of the glory days of the 3D platformer. The 1990s baby. Glory days that we can't wait to relive with Yooka-Laylee.

And coming from Playtonic Games, a new studio made up of ex-Rare employees who worked on classics like Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country, its no wonder this looks good.

A classic platformer is a timeless thing you know. Whilst also being somewhat of a non-existent thing these days. Apart from the odd mechanic popping up every now and then.

So sit back and watch a bright, colourful, romp through ice worlds, underwater caverns, giant rotating platforms, and vast green hills that reach the sky. Plus, some mine-cart action to boot.
