The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening originally released for the Game Boy way back in 1993, in black and white (or green and black) form. At the time it proved that a huge game, A Legend of Zelda could work as a handheld game. And now 25 years later it's back in Nintendo Switch remake form. And it looks wonderful.
With a visual style that is not only charming and faithful to classic top-down Zelda, but has the feel of looking into a fully animated highly detailed set of miniatures. The tilted camera also adds a new level of depth to the environments and characters.
Check it out, because again - it looks wonderful.
Just to give you an idea of just how far handheld's have come since 1993, here's a side-by-side comparison put together by Tristan Cooper on Twitter.

Link's Awakening was in many ways an off-shoot as it takes places outside of Hyrule on the mysterious island of Koholint. The re-make is due for release this year on Nintendo Switch.
