The Last of Us Remastered's Multiplayer Censored in Australia and Europe

Sony has revealed that the upcoming PlayStation 4 version of the Naughty Dog's The Last of Us will continue to be censored in the multiplayer section for all Australian and European countries, as seen in the PlayStation 3 version.

The censorship was revealed by PlayStation MVP Fred Dutton in the recent PlayStation Blog post on The Last of Us Remastered's 1080p 60FPS article. Dutton stated that "MP is the same as in the EU PS3 version – there have been no changes in this respect," confirming that the previous censorship that includes player gore will continue to be intact sadly. The comment has sparked a number of fiery responses including threats of dropping the game entirely.

The Last of Us Remastered will be available on PlayStation 4 come July 29th. What are your thoughts on censorship in video games? Let us know in the comments below!

Whats was the point of a R18 rating when all it has done is moved some MA15 content to it and not really expanded much of what we are allowed.

i believe naughty dog took it upon themselves to censor it for all of europe for some reason. it's censored for us because we get lumped in with europe when it comes to games.

Last of Us MP is pretty f*****g awesome. you wouldnt expect it but it is.

I'm guessing Germany so everyone in Europe has the same version and they don't have to bother with worried about getting RC'd. I'm guessing that's the same for Australia. The original version had the same censored sections didn't it?

when every kind watches game of thrones and all that crap - why should we limit the artists with censorship? if a game is ma15 it shouldnt be censored - if it's too full on it should just go to r18. it's bulls***! i reckon it degrades our intelligence and is an insult to artistic freedom and creative expression, and immersion/product vision. Why should we have to go to US to play something un-muddied? It's f*****g 2014. Legalize recreational weed, ban gina rinehart and stop censoring games already!
