The filmmakers behind What Remains have Naughty Dog to the punch, with the first episode of their live action series having arrived before the release of the game that inspired it.

The first of an expected six episodes, the short runs 18 minutes and introduces the main characters Alex and David in a post apocalyptic world inhabited by former humans infected by a new strain of Cordyceps parasitic fungus that infects a host's brain and spreads via airborne spores.
This story takes the perspective that these creatures share a collective consciousness, and communicate through the same thread of thought. This particular trait has been instrumental in the annihilation of the human race, but may eventually prove to be their undoing.
