With both games scoring eight nominations each, including the Game of the Year - where we could honestly see it going either way. That being said it has been a fantastic year for games with both Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and indie darling Celeste snagging four nominations each, alongside seven for Marvel's Spider-Man and three for Capcom's Monster Hunter: World.

The Game Awards are scheduled to broadcast and stream live Thursday, December 6 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles (which will be Friday here in ANZ). LAst year the award show saw over 17 million viewers tune in from across the globe, where several big new game announcements were also revealed live on stage. Here's the list of this year's major nominees.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege should not be on any list after the graphics debacle. No, graphics don't dictate gameplay, but when the graphics has a particular shine to it and then the company hoes and reduces that shine to make the game look ten years old, that's a different story.
