The Evil Within was every bit the horror masterpiece, and coming from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami it proved that we was still one of the masters of interactive horror. Today at Bethesda's E3 conference the sequel was announced, and it's coming Friday the 13th, October 2017.

And boy, does it look insane. And scary too. With visuals and imagery that is sure to leave you in a state that only the warm embrace of a new Mario game could bring you back from the brink.

From mastermind Shinji Mikami and the talented team at Tango Gameworks, The Evil Within 2 takes the acclaimed franchise to a new level with its unique blend of psychological thrills and true survival horror. You are Detective Sebastian Castellanos and at your lowest point. But when given a chance to save your daughter, you must enter a world filled with nightmares and discover the dark origins of a once-idyllic town to bring her back. Horrifying threats emerge from every corner as the world twists and warps around you. Will you face adversity head on with weapons and traps, or sneak through the shadows to survive?

The Evil Within 2 will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

I really enjoyed the first one, especially at the start. But towards the end it suffered from a similar problem to the first tomb raider on xbox360, too much gun slinging. It also got a bit confusing with the mind inside of a mind setting.

Anyway, this should be lots of fun.
