Accompanying the announcement of a Collector's Edition for its forthcoming debut MMO The Elder Scrolls Online Bethesda has released a new cinematic trailer for the game.

The new video picks up where the impressive debut cinematic clip wound up, with the leaders of the game's three playable factions facing off amidst their individual attempts to take on the forces of evil dwelling in the Imperial City and claim the Emperor's throne. Their attentions are soon turned from each other to the common foe, including a lumbering beast covered in scamps and a contingent of warriors clad in Daedric armour.

The collector's edition confirms the leaked image that was doing the rounds yesterday, featuring a statuette of chief antagonist Molag Bal, an illustrated guide book and map, as well as the usual digital bonuses. Notably, the collector's edition also grants its purchasers the ability to play in any faction as an Imperial, in addition to the nine other races on offer in the game (three in each faction).
In addition to the highly-anticipated game, The Elder Scrolls Online Physical Imperial Edition includes:
  • Molag Bal Statue. A 30.5 cm statue featuring Molag Bal, Daedric Prince of domination and enslavement.
  • The Improved Emperor’s Guide to Tamriel. A 224-page illustrated guide annotated by the Imperial scholar, Flaccus Terentius.
  • Physical Map of Tamriel. A 53.3 cm x 66 cm printed map detailing Alliance-controlled zones and the ultimate conquest: Cyrodiil.
  • Steelbookâ„¢ Packaging. A limited edition steel case decorated in the color of the Imperials.
  • Exclusive Collection of Digital Content.
    • Play as an Imperial: Become an Imperial and play in any Alliance. Gain unique bonuses, crafting styles, gear, and more.
    • White Imperial Horse: Summon this Imperial mount and journey through Tamriel with speed.
    • Mudcrab Vanity Pet: Explore Tamriel with a mudcrab pet scuttling along by your side.
    • Rings of Mara: Complete the Ritual of Mara with a friend and receive an experience bonus when you play together.
According to the press release, Australian and New Zealand pricing for the Physical Imperial Edition has been set at AUD $139.95 / NZD $149.95 with the Digital Imperial Edition (sans the physical goodies) coming in at AUD $119.95 / NZD $129.95 . Both versions will also qualify for 5 day early access if pre-ordered. Visit store.elderscrollsonline.com for more particulars.

The Elder Scrolls Online is due on April 4 2014 for PC and Mac, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One offerings arriving later in the year.

I'm glad you get paid to inform and entertain through your writing; nobody else would have been able to so carefully craft a critique of the monotonous and hackneyed comments posted on YouTube in response to this video and juxtapose it with the high quality and thoughtful comments that AusGamers news articles receive.

No, it isn't, it's a trailer.

Looked nice but would have been better without the shakey cam.

I like the look of TESO (both cinematic and gameplay videos), but all I hear about is how all the media reviewers are bagging it as being horrible to play.

I'm a sucker for CE's that have collectible statues so I pre-ordered this one. My collection grows ever slowly...

I was kinda hoping this would be a sandbox mmo. By the looks of their website it is PvP focused. That is pretty good, I don't care much for dungeons unless its single player.

Just went down and pre-paid for my Imperial Edition from EB and was given an Explorer's pack that gives you 5 days early access, exclusive treasure maps, the ability to play any race in any alliance and an extra vanity pet.

How much was the imperial edition at EB? Don't see it listed anywhere on their website only the standard editiion.

I've just emailed off to PR, it seems the edition has been removed from stores worldwide. The edition was going for $139.95 and included the Explorer's Pack extra content.

Has anyone gotten into the beta for this? Always anxious about MMOs I haven't played before hand.

The Imperial Digital Edition is still available on the Elder Scrolls website, seems the physical copy of that edition has sold out though.
