But, as there's no mention of any substantial story stuff, a lot of players aren't happy with the revelation. Yeah, a genuinely weird turn of event. Released around about this time last year, Ubisoft's The Division quickly became one of the most played and talked about games of 2016. And as it's entering it's second year, Ubisoft and developer Massive have a string of mostly free updates coming.
The first expansion, due for release sometime this winter looks to add a number of quality of life changes and the introductions of Season. Putting the game's content offering ever so closer to other online action-RPGs. The new
Loadout feature will allow players to store and switch out different load-outs, including skills, talents, and so forth, at the press of a button.
Seasons will work much like they do elsewhere, but in The Division thanks to modifiers and playlists, each new Season will test different skills, builds, and play-styles. With rewards dished out at the end of each Season, with leaderboards to track individual performance. Finally, this expansion will also introduce something called
Feats which are in-game achievements tied to rewards of the cosmetic variety.
The second expansion due later in the year is said to feature some story content but not exactly new missions. It's unsure as to what this would be, as for the moment Massive are remaining pretty vague about this expansion.
But, with the stuff mentioned for the first expansion, it all sound pretty good. Perhaps the real problem is that these are being called expansions, as they sound more like updates. Oh, and if you're a lapsed The Division player be sure to log in tomorrow for some Anniversary items that include a new celebration emote and 200 Premium Credits.
