Telltale's Game of Thrones episodic will "soon" be heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One alongside its previous announced platforms, the developer revealed in a recent blog post.

The game picks up near the end of season three of HBO's Game of Thrones television series, and will end right before the beginning of season five. It uses the world created by Game of Thrones, rather than an original take on the A Song of Ice and Fire novels written by George RR Martin. The story focuses on House Forrester, and throughout the season, players will embody five members of House Forrester, either as direct family or servants of the House.

"Playing as five characters not only reflects the epic scope of Game of Thrones, but is also something that the player needs to be mindful of," Telltale writes. "This is because the actions of one character can ripple out to affect the rest of House Forrester. Multiply the actions of one character by five, and you're truly playing the Game of Thrones...where you win, or you die."

The game will visit scenes that Game of Thrones fans know, such as The Wall and King's Landing, but it also introduces the home of House Forrester, Ironrath. "House Forrester is a noble house from the Wolfswood in the north of Westeros," the post reads. "Bannermen to House Glover, they have always offered unswerving loyalty to the ruling great house of the North – the Starks. The Forresters are seated at Ironrath, an imposing stronghold surrounded by towering ironwood trees."

Ironwood trees play an important role in Telltale's Game of Thrones, as the trees are valuable commodities for crafting weapons, defense structures and vessels. "House Forrester controls the majority of the ironwood forests in the Wolfswood, much to the chagrin of their bitter rivals, House Whitehill," Telltale says. We have a feeling we'll hear of House Whitehill quite a bit during our gameplay.

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Series is six episodes, and the first installment is named after the House Forrester motto, "Iron from Ice." Telltale says the game is still set to premiere in 2014. It will be launching for PC (Windows, Mac and Linux), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
