And you can join the fight right now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC - in Hyper Jam from Melbourne-based indie Bit Dragon. The same-screen brawler borrows many queues from the neon-soaked '80s from its retro aesthetic to adrenaline fuelled synthwave soundtrack. Naturally there are modern touches thrown in there in the form of power-ups, pick-ups, and a focus on making each subsequent battle play out a little differently.

Hyper Jam is a fast-paced multiplayer game that hearkens back to the days of same-room couch co-op, and as a nice little bonus Hyper Jam supports cross-play. Here's the launch trailer.

“Hyper Jam has been a labor of love for our team,” said Roman Maksymyschyn, Director, Bit Dragon. “It combines our love of fast-paced multiplayer action and ‘80s aesthetics into an incredible experience whether you’re looking for a party game to enjoy casually with friends or something more strategic and seriously competitive. No matter which camp you fall into, we hope you’ll give Hyper Jam a go now that it’s available for consoles and PC.”

Hyper Jam is out now for $22.45 AUD on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
