Coming to PS4 and PC early 2018, The Swords of Ditto from developer onebitbeyond and publisher Devolve Digital proudly wears its classic 16-bit Zelda inspiration on its sleeve. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that because it looks great. Throw in some local co-op, and roguelike mechanics where after you die you wash up on the same beach years later, and we can't wait to play it.
Plus, the art style and animation is fantastic.
The Swords of Ditto is a compact action RPG that creates a unique adventure for each new hero of legend in the relentless fight against the evil Mormo. Explore a delightful but dangerous overworld, brave menacing dungeons, and improve your hero in a charming village, during your quest to overcome the evil that plagues the island. Unleash the mystical Sword of Ditto and grab a co-op friend for an unforgettable adventure filled with delightful characters, extraordinary loot, and heroic battles!
Those dungeon room transitions though, classic Zelda.
did you ever play the Zelda Four Swords thing Nintendo did years back? Admittedly it required multiple gameboys and proprietary cables to work, but it showcased awesome classic Zelda-style puzzles and dungeons designed for multiplayer.
No :( To a loner kid that was a massive hindrance to playing those games. I think there was another GC version of the game or at least the same concept. But unfortunately I never got to play multiplayer zelda :(
I hope for the Switch they either release a new four swords style game or re-release it with the multiplayer component.

I love the concept, always thought LotP had great mechanics that could be converted over to a multiplayer game.
