Weighing in at 520 grams and just 8.3mm thick, the new Surface Go from Microsoft represents the company's lightest and most affordable Surface product yet. Starting at $599 AUD, the new 2-in-1 Surface will feature a 7th Generation Intel Pentium Gold Processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage in addition to a USB-C port, headphone jack, and storage expansion slot.

Additional pricier models will also be available, bumping up the memory to 8GB and offering 256GB of storage. Although smartly marketed as a productivity device perfect for students or people on-the-go, the new Surface Go will also be able to handle some light gaming thanks to the inclusion of Intel HD Graphics 615. Naturally this will eat into the 9 hours of battery life promised, but those familiar with the low-power CPU have been able to get games like Fortnite, Rocket League, Tomb Raider, and others running above 30 frame-per-second. Albeit at 720p resolution and graphics settings turned all the way down.

Pre-orders for the Surface Go open up tomorrow at the Microsoft Store.
