One of half of Team Meat, the independent developers behind the amazing Super Meat Boy, Edmund McMillan, has revealed his new pet-project in a recent blog post, called The Binding of Isaac.
Isaac is a roguelike shooter based on the dungeon structure of Zelda (nes). At its core it controls like Smash TV / Robotron in a randomly generated semi RPG world filled with powerups items and special abilities.
There's much more detail on the blog post, or our game-page, but if the quality of this throwback title is even remotely close to that of Super Meat Boy, fans of retro-gaming-gone-modern are going to be super happy.

According to the blog post SMB's Danny B will be supplying the game's soundtrack, so you can equally expect some amazing tunes to accompany the game, and while no release date, or price, has been revealed, the lads will be releasing the game via Steam (so it'll likely be pretty cheap based on their past efforts). There's no confirmation this is Team meat's official next game, only that it's Edmund's baby, so stay tuned as we learn more, and click the thumbnails below for freshly released screens.
