As in the next game in the large open-world sandbox Super Mario titles that began with Super Mario 64 in 1996. First glimpsed during the Nintendo Switch debut last year, Super Mario Odyssey is indeed the next big Mario game, and will see the world's most popular plumber leave the Mushroom Kingdom to explore a new world. One that looks very much like our very own planet. Or at least, partially inspired by.

A new hat mechanic looks to be introduced with the game, one has Mario throw his hat out and then use it as a jumping platform. Very cool.
