While the big boys play in the console and PC space this holiday season, you could be forgiven for forgetting Nintendo's 3DS, but you'd be remiss to ignore it.

Nintendo actually has a few franchises aces up its sleeve, with two Mario titles rocking the 3DS for the break, one of which brings us here today - Super Mario 3D Land.

A lot of eyes are definitely on the next Kart installment which arrives pretty soon, but in the lead up, an all-new Mario platforming adventure powers the system and its 3D capabilities. Oh, and introduces a whole new generation of players to the legendary Tanooki suit.

I bought this on Thursday with Skyward Sword - I was busy all weekend running a 24 hour event so have had no time to play either.
So this morning I get on the track, having packed my 3DS and M3DL, go to turn it on..

FUUUUUU, dead battery, and didn't bring the charger.

Another first world problem :(
