Summer Game Fest kicks off this weekend (
check out all the Australian times here) and as part of a recent Twitter Spaces session, host and organiser Geoff Keighley urged fans to temper their expectations in terms of crazy reveals. As transcribed
by VGC, "We’re doing some good stuff for you, but definitely manage your expectations in terms of the megaton shocks that you’re expecting."
Because the event will mainly focus on games already announced. Even so, with 30 confirmed publishers and developers Geoff has confirmed that the first gameplay demo of The Callisto Protocol will be there, which is the highly anticipated spiritual successor to Dead Space.
It looks awesome. Also, a full level play-through of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Plus, more on Gotham Knights and the upcoming June 30 release of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course.
“We’ve got a couple of new game announcements in the show and hopefully some surprises if everything holds," Geoff adds. "But it definitely is a show that’s primarily focused on stuff that is announced.”
Still, gameplay from The Callisto Protocol and the next Call of Duty is definitely big stuff, and Geoff notes that the entire livestream (which will include developers making appearances) will run somewhere betweed 90 minutes to two hours in total.
And sure, we'll manage our expectations - but even so, we're still hoping for that first-look at Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Because hey, it's technically "already announced" and EA is on the
list of companies that will be there.
