It's that time of the year again, where hype takes over the logic and reason sections of our brains as we gear up for another E3 spectacular. Except that there’s no E3 2022, so instead we’ve got livestreams and showcases and presentations in that E3 spirit like Summer Game Fest and the big Xbox shindig.

What’s in store? Will Bethesda give us that first proper look at Starfield even though the game has been delayed to 2023? Will Nintendo give us all of the Metroid and F-Zero and Star Fox we crave? Time will tell… and speaking of time, here’s when all the stuff is going down.

In that Australian AEST format you crave.

Friday, June 3

Where and When: PlayStation State of Play - 8.00am AEST

What to Expect?
: Sony has made it clear that this event will feature first-looks at third-party games in addition to a sneak peak at the upcoming PSVR 2 library. So we could be getting a launch time/window for the next-gen VR play from Sony. Here’s hoping there’s also some God of War sized first-party action too, namely God of War: Ragnarok.

Friday, June 10

Where and When: Summer Game Fest Begins - 4:00am AEST

What to Expect?
: Without E3 proper we’re expecting a lot from the Geoff Keighley hosted Summer Game fest - which will kick off multiple days of reveals and events with a big ol’ showcase. And with that we should definitely expect some big reveals, gameplay debuts, and even news about new content for existing titles. With some big titles due for release this year, including Gotham Knights, Harry Potter, Call of Duty, and more this might be the time to get the latest on these too.

Where and When: Devolver Direct 2022 - 8:00am AEST

What to Expect?
: Devolver Digital is back for another crazy showcase for 2022 - which will be presented by Suda51 of No More Heroes fame. Yeah it's certainly going to be one to watch, as Devolver Direct 2022 is being marketed as "the greatest countdown the industry has ever seen". But, that also means we should expect to see some game reveals in the 30-minute stream too.

Saturday, June 11

Where and When: Netflix: Geeked Week Games Showcase - 3.00am AEST

What to Expect?
: In addition to the first look at the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners show, plus The Cuphead Show! snd Sonic Prime, 10 Netflix games are set to be unveiled as the company looks to expand into adding games to its streaming slate over mobile and PC.

Sunday, June 12

Where and When: Guerrilla Collective 3 - 1am AEST

What to Expect?
: Cool looking indies and more cool looking indies.

Where and When: Future Games Show 2022 - 5.00am AEST

What to Expect?
: 40 games from publishers like Team 17, Thunderful, and Amanita Design. Developer deep dives, interviews, and a lot more.

Monday, June 13

Where and When: Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase - 3:00am AEST

What to Expect
: The big showcase from Xbox and Bethesda has some pretty big Starfield-sized shoes to fill as the first-party slate of games coming for the rest of 2022 looks a little bare. Almost completely. But with 2023 on the horizon, and next-year looking insane for first-party releases, plus indies and third-party games coming to Xbox Game Pass to fill the 2022 gaps, this could be quite the spectacle.

Where and When: PC Gaming Show 2022 - 5.00am AEST

What to Expect
: The PC Gaming Show returns and it will once again focus on the PC side, with a bunch of games with “tactics” and “tactical” in the description, alongside hardware looks and potential reveals.

Tuesday, June 14

Where and When: Capcom Showcase - 8:00am AEST

What to Expect
: Capcom is set to have its own digital event, "35 minutes of news and in-depth updates on previously announced Capcom titles". Which probably means in-depth looks at the recently announced/revealed Resident Evil 4 Remake and Street Fighter 6.

Wednesday, June 15

Where and When: Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase Extended - 3:00am AEST

What to Expect
: The big showcase from Xbox and Bethesda in extended form, with a 90 minute follow-up stream set to offer up deeper looks at games announced and showcased during the big showcase from Monday.

Where’s Nintendo, Ubisoft, and EA?

Nintendo has yet to announce its annual E3-style Nintendo Direct presentation, but odds are it’ll happen after the Xbox and Bethesda showcase. As far as EA goes it’s skipping its own E3-style EA Play event this year to instead focus on presentations and reveals on a per-game basis. When it comes to Ubisoft though, the publisher won't be holding its own June showcase so it remains to be seen when we'll get to see more info on what its big holiday 2022 plans are.
