With the revelation that Borderlands 3's PC release would be an Epic Games Store exclusive for six-months, the reaction was not exactly celebratory. Like with Metro Exodus and other titles making deals with Epic's storefront, many took their frustrations out on previous entries via posting negative user reviews on Steam. A practice that we've seen far too much of lately, and one that Valve is now actively monitoring.

With the recent spike of negative Borderlands 2 reviews on PC categorised as "off-topic reviews".

With over 4,000 user reviews not counting towards Borderlands 2's overall rating - which remains "Overwhelmingly Positive". Because, well, it's still a classic. And it's great to see Valve implementing this feature, which doesn't outright delete these reviews - but classify them accordingly.
