Developer Undead Labs has today announced that their zombie-filled third-person survival shooter State of Decay has now been launched
onto Steam after a successful early access period.
The end is here. Life as you knew it has gone to hell after the mother of all zombie outbreaks. Now you and the few scattered survivors must band together to survive and rebuild in a 3rd-person action game set in a dynamic open world. You choose where to make your stand, designing and fortifying your home base, performing daring raids for food and ammunition, and rescuing other playable survivors with unique talents.
According to the developer's
official post on their website, the launch on Steam recognises the games full keyboard and mouse support alongside various other PC tweaks including some more in-depth in-game settings and shinier graphics.
Those thinking Undead Labs are now done with their PC launch can think twice, with official post also confirming that a new patch will be making its way out into the open in a few weeks. The new patch will include full key remapping, changes to mouse acceleration, and more.
You can find more on the PC release over at the
official Steam page.

Steam says that I ended up putting 24 hours into it, and I really did enjoy the time.
The game could use a bit more variety further along as I don't think i'll play it again until some DLC or new content is released.
A modding community would be great but pretty sure it won't happen.
It's a slightly different take on the zombie survival scenario with it having some added home base mechanics and the combat is okay, though not too in depth or difficult unless you really get swarmed.
