So from that we can assume that an Storm Trooper or smuggler is equal to a jedi. Hate to say it but not sure that is supported via the lore much.....

Gotta have class balance though. If Jedi were as powerful as they ought to be, no-one would roll anything but Jedi/Sith.

Yeah, at the end of the day, I would prefer they get the gameplay right, even if as a result they end up playing loose with how "realistic" it is. Cos its a game, and its meant to be fun and balanced, and if they can pull that off then I don't really mind that a smuggler with laser pistols can beat a jedi or that people don't die in one hit from a lightsaber.

If you follow the lore though, there is 'cortosis' a metal that can't be cut by lightsabers and 'ysalamir' creatures that repel the force.

Smugglers and bounty hunters have used these creatures and metals when hunting down force users

Ohhh, so thats what they're talking about when they have armor with a 'cortosis weave'. I guess it makes sense that in a galaxy populated by mind ninjas that wield laser swords, people would find ways to fight them.
