The original Xbox version is currently playable on modern Xbox Oen and Xbox Series consoles via backwards compatibility so the title popping up on the Nintendo Switch isn't far-fetched.
And as per above, with the developer listed as Aspyr Media -- the team which recently brought Star Wars Episode I: Racer to the Switch -- it all looks legit. As a game from 2005 though, the team will no doubt be updating the visuals for widescreen in addition to potentially improving performance and other elements. That said the Episode I: Racer re-release was pretty bare-bones so this might follow suit.

The original Star Wars first-person shooter, Star Wars: Dark Forces, was released in 1995 at a time when new entries in the FPS genre were called 'Doom Clones' -- named as such after id Software's seminal 1993 hit.
