Relive the excitement of 1999 and the impending release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace with the best movie-tie in to come from that film - Star Wars Episode l: Racer. And for those that recall, Episode I had a tonne of merchandising so that was no small feat. Step into the pod-racing shoes of Anakin Skywalker, Sebulba, and Ratts Tyerell in this remastered totally wizard high-speed pod racer.

Making its debut on the Nintendo 64 before being ported to PC and the Dreamcast, Star Wars Episode I Racer is all chunky polygons in 2020 -- but the new high-def presentation and smooth frame-rate highlight what was and still is a solid slice of Star Wars gaming history.

Developed by LucasArts it took the pod-racing sequence from the film and built a F-Zero style game around it. With pod customisation and Watto humming the Star Wars Cantina music between races, it's great to see this classic make its way to the Switch and PS4.

It's available now for $22.95 AUD across each platform's digital storefronts, and stay tuned for our full review. In the meantime be sure to check out our Throwback Thursday entry covering the game from a few years back.
