Star Wars Eclipse is a new cinematic game set in the iconic universe, and a collaboration between Lucasfilm Games and developer Quantic Dreams. For those that know ol‘ Quantic Dreams, it’s a studio that has been in the ‘cinematic game’ game for quite some time. And we mean that in the literal sense; games like Detroit: Become Human and Beyond: Two Souls play out like interactive movies.

And with that this cinematic reveal is exactly that, and pretty incredible in terms of spectacle, tone, and Star Wars-iness. And for those wondering, the High Republic Era “was a period of time that lasted for around two hundred years” where “the Galactic Republic was at its height” and “a golden age for the Jedi”. More here.

As per the description, it’s definitely sounding like a Quantic Dream joint. And in terms of interactive Star Wars movies this is shaping up to be a step or two above the classic Rebel Assault series.
WEAVE A TAPESTRY OF INTERLACED DESTINIES

See the galaxy through the eyes of an ensemble cast of multiple, charismatic playable characters, each with their own morality, personality, motivations, and impact upon each other and the story at large.

COMPOSE AN ORIGINAL STAR WARS STORY

With all-new characters and environments, you have the power to make choices with consequences thanks to many outcomes in this deeply branching narrative.

SHAPE YOUR FATE IN THE OUTER RIM

In an uncharted section of the galaxy with never-before-seen species and planets to discover, this part of the Outer Rim is rife with opportunity – and political tensions that could alter the fabric of peace. What will you do?

Star Wars Eclipse is still early in development so it might be a while before we get to see in-game footage, but we’re definitely keen to see more.
