We have a slightly belated Star Fox 64 3D review up for you today, both in part to our time over at TGS holding us up, and to equally parallel the 3DS' own laziness in its top-notch game releases (they're pretty few and far between, really).

As with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D is the classic N64 title spruced up for 3D gaming and shrunk down to fit on the Nintendo 3DS. There are few new additions here our reviewer, Chad Drake, goes into, but largely you're getting the same (awesome) game we played back in the late 90s.

I've been enjoying it quite a bit, playing it through a few time trying to clock my scores hopefully to unlock more than the sound test (which lets face it, is pretty lame)

I'm enjoying this, everything about it is so nostalgic, especially the audio.

The visuals are significantly improved too.

Did they revoice the main characters though? They sound a bit different.

I think they just improved the s*** out of the audio or the speakers in the 3ds are better than the speakers in my 26" tv from the 90's

I had completely forgotten this was due for release until I was in EB the other day and saw it on the shelves. But then I bought Assassins Creed 2 (had never played it before - omg, aweeeesome game) and inFamous 2 instead, so it'll be months until I get around to playing Starfox (since both Resistance 3 and infamous 2 are still shrink wrapped) :P

Nah, it's not just the sound quality, the dialogue actually sounds a bit different. It still sounds like the same voice actors, just re-recorded. Maybe the original dialogue wasn't high enough quality or something.
