With Nintendo having its Direct series of broadcasts and Xbox the Inside Xbox monthly or bi-monthly streams, Sony is also getting in on the 'here's a look at what's coming' with the first episode of its PlayStation State of Play broadcast. A slick presenter free collection of trailers for titles coming to PlayStation 4 in 2019.

And PlayStation VR as this episode was very heavy on the virtual reality. With the first trailer also working as an announcement for Marvel’s Iron Man VR, which is headed to PSVR in 2019. Although we don't get actual gameplay footage it definitely sets the scene - of putting players in the role of Tony Stark in a fancy mech suit.

Next up is look at the cinematic VR title, Blood & Truth - which looks like a first-person action movie. It's out May 28.

And then there's the announcement of No Man's Sky Beyond's VR update due mid-year - that will also be available via Steam VR.

Switching things up with a non-VR-only title comes Obvservation, from 'Untold Stories' developer No Code - a sci-fi AI thriller where you're only viewpoint comes from cameras. It's moody, and looks great, and will be hitting PS4 proper as well as PSVR.

ReadySet Heroes is a fast-paced dungeon crawler and action-RPG that in addition to bright and vibrant art direction will support same-screen co-op in addition to online multiplayer. It looks like a lot of fun.

Concrete Genie impressed when it was first announced, and now the paint the walls and watch creatures come to life adventure has been confirmed for a late 2019 release. Definitely one to keep and eye on.

Next we go retro with Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, the Crash Bandicoot meets Mario Kart fan favourite from decades past. The PS4 version is set to nab a few retro-inspired exclusives in the form of classic low-poly skins and a Retro track.

And keeping things sort-of retro, in that the series burst onto the fighting scene in the 1990s comes a fresh Mortal Kombat 11 trailer. The game we all can't seem to get enough of lately. This time confirming Jax, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao as fighters.

Finally, a new story trailer for Day's Gone which is out next month. And it really ramps up the drama.

In addition to all of the above there was also more PSVR on hand with a look at a new Five Night at Freddy's VR as well as a compilation of upcoming VR games coming to PlayStation. Turns out, there's a lot on the horizon.
