In a move that sounds a lot like Xbox Game Pass, Sony's PlayStation Now game streaming service - which is not available in Australia - has added a
new feature that will allow players to download titles and play them both on and offline. But, it won't work with everything as the announcement states that "almost all PS4 games in the service" will be compatible, but not for the PS3 titles.
Although not mentioned in the post, Sony spoke to
GamesIndustry.biz to state that PS3 games "are not compatible to run natively on PS4". ON the plus side the download and play option will work for PS2 games that have been remastered for PS4.
PS4 Pro enhancements will also be available to Pro users. Perhaps with this update a version of PlayStation Now will launch in Australia with this functionality only - and not the whole streaming side of it. Well, until our internet gets up to speed.
