Sony's new INZONE brand covers gaming gear designed for both PC and PlayStation, and with
three new gaming headsets coming to Australia there's also the prospect of brand-new Sony gaming monitors. Although local availability and pricing is still TBC, reviews have been cropping up and first impressions have been positive.
In particular for the Sony 27” INZONE M9 4K HDR 144Hz Gaming Monitor which features Full Array Local Dimming, NVIDIA G-SYNC support, DisplayHDR 600, an IPS panel with 1ms GtG response time, and excellent colour accuracy.
The specs read like a premium display for PC gaming, and that looks to be the case with an in-depth
TechSpot review praising its response times and HDR performance for an under $1,000 USD display. Other overseas reviews have been similarly positive, citing the 4K image as excellent for gaming on PC and even PlayStation 5. On the PS5 front this display supports Auto HDR Tone Mapping, making the experience similar to that of a dedicated modern TV - albeit in smaller, desk-bound form and the added bonus of a smooth 144Hz presentation.
There's also a INZONE M3 Gaming Monitor targeting 1080p and 240Hz refresh rate that looks to be more for PC with its competitive-minded specs, though it too supports HDR and seamless PS5 integration.
Both displays feature stylish designs that look like "what if a PlayStation 5 but PC monitor", so here's hoping they make their way to Australia.
