After teasing us with three cryptic trailers leading up to Gamescom 2014, Sony has announced at their press conference that these trailers were indeed involved with the rumoured Until Dawn horror title, and that the game will be coming exclusively to PlayStation 4.

The news was revealed during Sony's Gamescom press conference, where it was revealed that the former PlayStation 3-exclusive game had been shifted over to the new hardware. It also seems that the previously touted PlayStation Move has been dropped, with UK developer Supermassive Games giving no mention of it during their bit or in the trailer.

Supermassive Games are known for a studio that has largely worked on PlayStation Move titles like Walking With Dinosaurs, Start the Party, and Tumble, as well as core games like Killzone HD and Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock, and portions of LittleBigPlanet PS Vita and LittleBigPlanet 2.

Originally revealed way back in 2012 for the PlayStation 3, Until Dawn has had a rough development cycle. After being revealed it was promptly pulled into the shadows, where it wasn't until 2013 that the studio confirmed development was still ongoing. It wasn't until 2014 that Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida noted that it would fit on PS4's VR headset, Project Morpheus, all but confirming its move to PlayStation 4.
