Horizon Forbidden West footage we've seen so far points to the game being
an absolute stunner when running on
PlayStation 5. The sort of next-gen visuals you imagine when a new console rolls around. In addition to announcing that the game has gone gold, Guerilla Games and Sony have also revealed footage of the game running on PS4 Pro hardware.
Which is a nice little reminder that the game is also headed to PS4. Although it's not the base-console, the game does look very good running on the supped up PS4.
Here are the clips, with descriptions courtesy of Guerrilla. Oh and be sure hit the little SD to HD button.
The Utaru tribe make their home in Plainsong, although the lands they live in have been heavily affected by the mysterious red blight. In this clip, you get a glimpse at their way of living in the massive thatched canopies, built atop Old World radar dishes – both serene and defensible.
Clamberjaws are a dangerously agile enemy, who will keep you on your toes throughout a fight. Take a look at what you can expect when you come across them in the wilds, in this extended clip.
Remember the Bristlebacks shown in our announce trailer? They make for a worthy opponent, especially when found in herds as encountered in this clip.
Although there's quite a bit of internet-style compression in these clips the level of detail is impressive and a step up from the original game - itself a showcase for the PS4 Pro.
Horizon Forbidden West is out February 18.
