The next system software update for PlayStation 4 has arrived for the new gen console, bringing compatibility support for the PULSE Wireless Stereo Headset (including the GTA V limited edition version) and the original Wireless Stereo Headset.

Also included in the update is the ability to mute the camera available for the console, general stability fixes and added support for 7.1 surround sound on audio devices.

Alongside the new firmware update Sony has also revealed their new 7.1 virtual surround sound Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0, which will be available for the PlayStation 4 plus PC, Mac and PlayStation 3 on February 10th. Those on the go can also utilise the included 3.5mm headphone jack to plug into any handheld device.

"Audio is a critical part of the overall gaming experience, and because our headsets are made for PlayStation gamers, by gamers, you'll truly hear the action the way it was meant to sound," said John Koller, vice president of marketing at SCEA. "We're also excited to introduce our new Gold Wireless Headset, which provides the actual audio experience that game developers created."
