Sony has revealed a new post on the PlayStation Blog detailing the updated suite of editing tools coming to PlayStation 4 in the 1.70 hardware firmware. With the new SHAREfactory, aspiring video editors can splice together multiple clips and personalize them with special filters, transitions, and themes. Console users can also use their PlayStation Camera for picture-in-picture video commentary and import original music to give videos a custom soundtrack; though there's no word how that feature will work when the console is still unable to read audio CDs or MP3s.

Once you've finished making the coolest Michael Bay movie ever with large explosions and robots, the upcoming update will allow you to save your creation to USB. This new change will offer a much quicker and easier method of sharing or uploading to your favourite Internet site, though will also hopefully allow for further advanced editing.

Other features included in the 1.70 firmware update is the option to disable HDCP, allowing users the ability to capture direct feed video without pesky DRM. The ability to auto-download and pre-load games that have been pre-order is also making an appearance, with the EU region (which includes Australia and New Zealand) getting pre-loading at least three days ahead of launch.

At this time there is no date for the firmware update, though the PlayStation Blog does offer a rather vague "soon" window. Check out the snazzy tutorial video below.
