While the current software lineup for Sony's PlayStation 4 may be looking a bit dry at the moment, the console maker has today revealed at a media briefing in Los Angeles that this is all set to change for 2014, confirming over 100 titles planned for the console.
According to the
@PlayStation Twitter account, over 100 PlayStation 4 games are in the works for 2014 release, though no word yet on what titles these are. Sony has also revealed that Assassin’s Creed, Don’t Starve, and NBA 2K14 are the top three titles that Vita owners access via Remote Play, further pushing its favoured use from the new console owners.
It isn't just the PlayStation 4 that is getting all the news at the media briefing, with Sony also revealing that the latest PlayStaiton Vita Slim model will be making its way to America. Announced through the
PlayStation Blog, Sony revealed that the new Slim model, which was launched late last month in the UK, will be available in a new Borderlands 2 bundle at a price tag of $199, which should hopefully spur the handhelds waning lifeline.
The new PS Vita Wi-Fi model is approximately 20-percent slimmer and 15-percent lighter than the original version, with rounded edges to fit comfortably in your hands. The new model comes with 1GB of internal memory built into the system, and its 5-inch front touchscreen has a new high-definition liquid crystal display (LCD), giving you a high quality image that provides the same deep, immersive gaming experience that’s at the core of the PS Vita system.
The bundle is expected to go on sale sometime during the American Spring. No word yet has been given on when Australia will see the new version, but hopefully news isn't far off. Let us know in the comments below on what PlayStation 4 titles you think could be coming this year, and whether you'd be eager to pick up the new Vita Slim.
