Over the weekend, starting late on Friday, Sony announced that PlayStation Plus pricing will increase as of August 31. In Australia the annual price for the subscription service that opens up the online capabilities of the PlayStation 4 console will be seeing a bump from $69.95 to $79.95. Which means if you need to top up your subscription, now's the time.

Also changing will be the monthly and three-month subscription options - with monthly changing from $9.95 to $10.95 and three-month PlayStation Plus subscriptions changing from $27.95 to $33.95.

Naturally, the price hike has seen its fair share of internet commentary over the weekend with many people upset with the change. Sony hasn't announced anything new to coincide with the price change, but is still offering PlayStation Plus members some great free content. As highlighted by its August line-up.
