Alongside a new trailer and a new tagline - "This World Comes For You." Days Gone, the biker zombie apocalypse jam from Sony's Bend Studio, has made an appearance at the last couple of E3's on Sony's stage so perhaps it's being set aside for other titles with a post-apocalyptic vibe this year. Like The Last of Us 2.
As for the release date, the PlayStation 4 exclusive will launch February 22, 2019. Which falls in line with that new thing of Sony releasing high-quality AAA titles in the first half of the year.
Prior to this new trailer there was something about Days Gone that wasn't all that exciting. Perhaps it was the sons of Anarchy aesthetic, or the zombies. But thanks to this following bit of gameplay info from Bend Studio's Creative Director John Garvin - it now sounds like it could be pretty damn good.
Rest In Peace, or R.I.P., is a cult that worships the Freakers. Rippers, as they’re known, dress like Freakers – and kill anyone who isn’t a Ripper. While they’re important to the story, Rippers are also an important part of the in-game Freaker ecology: when you get a chance to take down a Ripper camp, try bringing in a Swarm and see what happens – Rippers refuse to kill Freakers, and the results can be very entertaining.
Plus, it also looks like there are now creepy infected animals to deal with.
