That has an official launch date of next week, September 15. Which isn't all that surprising considering that people have already managed to get their hands on the unit. The console, alongside the new PlayStation 4 Pro, also comes with a new version of the DualShock 4 controller. One that has a front-facing light-bar. The new PS4 Slim will be available for $439.95 AUD.
Much like the new PlayStation 4 Pro the unit will support HDR displays. And in a stroke of engineering genius, even the existing PS4 model that we all use will also be getting HDR support in the form a firmware upgrade. Somehow.
To ensure that the PlayStation 4 experience remains the same across all versions, Sony has stated that multiplayer frame-rates will be identical across both the existing PS4, PS4 Slim, and PS4 Pro.
