With Sonic the Hedgehog added as a playable character in the upcoming release of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD coming October 29. As per the new trailer, one of the cool features is that playing as Sonic turns all the bananas in a level to golden rings - which then play that iconic Sonic sound effect when collected.

And seeing it all in motion, Sonic definitely looks like a great and fun addition that fits in nicely with classic Super Monkey Ball gameplay.

Originally released for the Wii back in 2006, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is a remastered version of the game with optimised controls, visuals, and the introduction of online leader-boards. It's due for release across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
