BioWare has shared a generous amount of details and footage from the single-player campaign of the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition, but had been quiet on the rumoured 4 player cooperative multiplayer mode.

IGN recently had a chance to go hands on with the co-op, and in addition to a full write-up on the experience -- which they explain is kept largely separate from the single-player experience -- they also have a video feature where a couple of the site's editors discuss what they know, over the top of some of the mode's first video footage.
Single-player is aiming for a smart marriage of narrative and gameplay systems. Multiplayer is pure, meant to attract role-playing junkies with a passion for loot, combat, and team-based battles in the gorgeous, brutal world of Dragon Age. After completing a multiplayer quest, you’ll take home your found gold to spend on treasure chests, which include items such as item recipes, new equipment, potions, grenades, and salves of varying rarity. Some may even unlock a new hero or character skin. Nine heroes join Dragon Age: Inquisition’s multiplayer roster at launch -- three for each mage/melee/archer class, each unique in their appearance, abilities, and characterization.
The article elaborates on the item unlock feature with a microtransaction element, but is quick to point out that such purchases are an "optional time saver" currency, and that "Nothing is behind a paywall", comparing the business model to that of the popular League of Legends.

Watch the video below. Dragon Age: Inquisition is scheduled for launch on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 21st 2014.

So its basically the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, but in Dragon Age. I guess thats not entirely a bad thing, Mass Effect multiplayer was suprisingly fun

Looks like fun. Will have to try it out once the game launches.
