Many other metrics have already made it pretty obvious that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has proven to be quite a popular game, but trumpeting that success, Bethesda have now released some
official numbers, confirming that 10 million copies of the game have been shipped and that they have banked over $650 million dollars in retail sales.
The PC version has enjoyed success of particular significance, having outsold all other PC games for the month, three times over.
" Skyrim is the fastest selling title in Steam's history," said Jason Holtman, Director of Business Development at Valve Corporation. "Bethesda's commitment to and understanding of the PC as a gaming platform shows in the great review scores, spectacular launch, and continued high player numbers that Skyrim has received. We are delighted that Bethesda chose to use Steamworks to support Skyrim both at retail and digitally."

Hard to say whether the PC space is still as lucrative if "three times over" is in the context of something like a 45% Xbox / 45% PS3 / 10% PC split.
