Boy, that didn't take long. We're less than a week away from Bethesda's E3 conference and already we've got word that not only will the publisher be spending a lot of time hyping up the brilliant looking Dishonored 2, that's only just the beginning. Word has it that the publisher will reveal a remastered version of Skyrim for current-gen consoles (mod-support included), a new Wolfenstein, the resurrection of Prey 2, and even another Evil Within.
And even though this all kind of reads like someone just took a look at Bethesda's catalogue of franchises and made their best guess as to what could be shown at E3, the reports apparently come from reliable sources posting on NeoGAF. Which have also been corroborated via other mainstream sites like Eurogamer.
The news about a remastered version of Skyrim isn't that exciting for PC players, because with the right mods that game can look absolutely stunning, even by today's standards. But in comparison to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, coupled with the recent success of Fallout 4's mod-support strategy for console releases, a remastered Skyrim starts to make a lot of sense.
Here's hoping they can get it to look like this.
As for the rest of the rumours, a new Wolfenstein makes sense considering the reboot is a couple of years old now. As for Prey 2, that would be pretty cool. As a game with a long a troubled development history, it was officially cancelled in 2014. But apparently has been resurrected, with Dishonored developer Arkane taking over the project.
Prey 2 is something that we've never really forgotten about, mainly because its 2011 trailer was nothing short of stunning.
Does this mean I can finally play Skyrim at it's best without having to install 100 mods? I got about a quarter of the way through installing STEP before losing the will to live.

Yeah, a couple of times I've gone to go back and finish off Skyrim, and by the time I get through updating all my mods and rejiggering the load order and sorting everything out, I'm over it and don't end up playing :(
i'm guessing skyrim will just be a direct port of the PC version to ps4 and xbone and it will come with mod support instead of gameplay changes or graphics improvements.
Dang, would love another Elder Scrolls game rather than some remaster/remake. When Skyrim came out I probably had 3 of the most enjoyable months of gaming I've had in a long time and i cant wait to get that feeling again.

One of my most uttered phrases is "That'd be so cool, I'll have to download then whenever I "fix" Skyrim..."
Years later, still CBF'd going through STEP XD
