AI this and AI that, you could say that headlines in the tech world have been about AI-generated images (DALL-E), sounds, and text (ChatGPT). And with that, it was probably only a matter of time before Skyrim entered the picture. The new Dragonborn Voice Over mod for Skyrim Special Edition uses ElevenLabs AI to generate over 7,000 voice lines for the main character - the unvoiced Dragonborn.

And yeah, the results are pretty good. The voice packs available are all based on a female AI voice but there's an option to generate the voice lines using other options. Check it out, it even nails Elder Scrolls words like 'Talos' - albeit in that American anime-dubbed style.



Using AI in this way is very interesting, especially for mods that previously had fans recording voice lines themselves or hiring voice actors. It could pave the way for more mods in the future adding full-voice with relative ease.
