Okay, Skull and Bones, you had me at "pets are also confirmed for the game at launch". If I can go full-on into battle with a pet monkey on the deck of my ship, you know I'm going to feel better, luckier and cooler than my opposition and, if what you're telling me is correct and I can find my pets out in the game-world, that's as good a reason as any yet to give this pirate life simulator a go.

At Ubisoft Forward over the weekend, we saw two trailers for Skull and Bones -- one highlighting a contextual world full of dangers, and another showcasing the game's ships, weapons, armour and pets. That's right, pets.

Skull and Bones’ open-world pirate adventure invites players to explore the Indian Ocean during the Golden Age of Piracy. As a pirate captain in Skull and Bones, you’ll plunder merchant vessels, gain Infamy, and build and customise a variety of ships for high-seas adventure.

Discover the weapons, armour, and even pets that will be at your disposal as Creative Director Elisabeth Pellen takes us through a deep-dive breakdown of the Skull and Bones gameplay trailer shown off at Ubisoft Forward.

Slated for release on Novermber 8 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Stadia and Amazon Luna, Skull and Bones is the long-awaited pirate simulator from Ubisoft. Check out our everything you need to know feature from earlier in the year and ready your eye-patches, peg-legs and hook-hands for a swashbucklin' jaunt upon the high seas.
