Devolver Digital and Majesco Entertainment, the publishers and distributors of the game, confirmed the Shadow Warrior’s reboot, developed by the Poland-based studio Flying Wild Hog, release on next-gen platforms.

The game, a resurrection of the 1997 3D-Realms FPS, was released last year on PC. It was quickly picked as a nostalgic gem, and received a generally positive reception, from critics and gamers alike. The PC and Xbox One versions are to be made available at the reduced price of $39.99. At the time of writing, no price has been confirmed for other regions.

"Shadow Warrior turns the 90's nostalgia meter way up, delivering big guns, big blades and big attitude laced with humour. This is a must have title for every kind of fan: those who loved the original game, FPS enthusiasts and players looking for a deep next gen experience at a legacy price point. We're proud to partner with Devolver to bring this highly rated game to the console audience." Majesco's CEO Jesse Sutton said in a statement.

The original Shadow Warrior was a tongue-in-cheek FPS in the veins of Duke Nukem, developed by 3D Realms. The game was a spoof of Kung Fu movies, featuring a protagonist named Lo Wang, who was fighting against the gigantic corporation Zilla Enterprise.
