Okay, so this looks amazing. Seriously, prepare to be floored. It's like developer Monolith took everything that people loved about Shadow of Mordor, and then cranked it to 11. And then 11 past that. Clocking in at 16 minutes this gameplay reveal gives us an intense, and incredible look at how the expanded Nemesis system and strategy works when trying to capture a Dark Lord controlled region.
Simply stating that Shadow of War will no let you gather followers and powerful orc allies is one thing, but seeing one appear at the right moment to save your life and take out an equally epic big-bad is something else entirely. Again, what makes this all the more impressive is the fact that allies and enemies will vary from player to player thanks to the expanded Nemesis system.
And then there's the new moves. And the expanded RPG mechanics.
But really, once you hear the following about the final boss encounter, "With the Nemesis system, every Overlord faced by every player will be unique to their world. And the throne room itself has been customised by the Overlord as his personal combat arena." You'll be sold.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be available for Xbox One, PC, and PS4, on August 23, 2017.
