With Rare's Sea of Thieves set to release next week for Xbox One and Windows 10, we're now officially ready to set sail. How so? Well we managed to snag one of those awesome Sea of Thieves Limited Edition controllers. You know the one, purple translucent casing, a glow in the dark skull, one gold trigger. If not, then read on.

A Limited-Edition controller, whether it be for the Xbox or PlayStation 4 and especially when tied to a game release, usually errs on the side of the visual. From colours to logos to fancy embossing going on. From a hardware perspective the new Sea of Thieves controller for Xbox One is modelled after the Xbox One S revision that introduced Bluetooth support and textured grips that were nice but a far cry from rubberised grips. From a looks perspective, well, you get something truly special. And very much one of the most impressive hardware tie-ins of 2018.

From a glow in the dark skull to barnacles to one gold trigger, the Sea of Thieves Limited Edition Xbox One controller is the perfect real-world accompaniment for setting sail with Rare’s pirate adventure.
