My younger brother has always had a penchant for words, and he loves games, but rarely does he ever combine the two. However, he's a pretty big Madden fan and I gave him the opportunity to turn out a review of the latest release in the series as the real NFL starts to ready for its next season.
Here's a snippet from his thoughts on Madden NFL 17:
Every year EA Sports promises changes to the game that make it more involved and helps the player feel more like a sports star like Aaron Rogers or Clay Mathews III (obviously, I’m a Green Bay fanboy). This addition to the series has done just that. Adding more in-depth and challenging running game, franchise mode and concept counters.
The running game is actually super-impressive and gives a real fluid feel to every motion you throw at the defence. The Run Path Assist system helps all players get a better understanding of just how NFL is played in real-life. In previous games it’s pretty much felt like a block of cement breaking and trying to turn but this addition has done a much better job.
Breaking tackles is a little tricky but the more you play, the easier it becomes. Using prompted button bashing or the right stick to juke or even stiff arm past your opponent is crazy fun. The buttons flash above your player’s head and you have a brief window to tap it or you’ll be taken to the ground.
