Ryse: Son of Rome developer Crytek will be introducing a new co-op survival game mode in their latest DLC, Mars' Chosen, according to a recent interview on Xbox Wire.

"In Survival mode, there is only one objective: battle alongside a fellow gladiator against endless waves of barbarians as your health gradually drains. The only way to regain health and keep death at bay is with quick kills and brutal executions, but the longer you survive, earning more gold and experience with each wave successfully cleared, the faster your health depletes."

The pack will also include five maps for the Coliseum, four of which are completely new, plus a new character skin alongside the aforementioned co-op mode. Two of the maps – Firestorm and Dockyard – are specifically created for Survival Mode, and the most popular map, Courtyard, has been optimized for Survival Mode. The other two – Pyramid and Obelisk – will transport you to the distant and exotic shores of ancient Egypt in Arena Mode.

To celebrate the new DLC, Microsoft will be running 10 days of sales for Ryse content, starting February 18th and running until February 24th.

Nice, I'm always keen for a bit of Co-op. Arena was fun, but was just too easy. You'd have to have a seriously, SERIOUSLY s*** team-mate to not complete the level, and even then, most of the time you could probably carry him/her through it.
