That will, like with
AMD's
Navi range sport 7nm architecture in what is being dubbed 'Ampere'. According to a number of reports, including this one at
Tech Radar, the announcement could come as early as March but most likely will happen in June at
Copmutex.
It's being said that
NVIDIA are holding onto the RTX 3080 launch because of how well the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti continue to sell. Especially when the current crop of Radeon cards from AMD fall short when it comes to performance. Though, AMD is said to be saving its more powerful Navi cards until next year too. And even Intel is supposed to be entering the discrete GPU market - which means the graphics cards wars are only going to get even more interesting in the coming months.
In terms of the RTX 30 series, there's word that its ray-tracing capbilities will see a significant improvement over the RTX 20 series - and will be more affordable too.
