When it comes to pure performance, NVIDIA's new Turing line of RTX graphics cards are without any real sort of competition. Both the RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2060 are powerhouses. AMD has the Radeon VII on the way, but that's yet to be tested in the field - so to speak. One of the big draws of the RTX line is with its real-time ray-tracing and AI capabilities. Two things that naturally drove up the cost, which is why the more budget oriented GeForce GTX 1660 Ti makes sense.

Even though it's still a rumour. Based on the new Turing cards and the GeForce RTX 2060, the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is said to omit RTX features like ray-tracing to meet a lower the price. Which is apparently $279 USD, and due February 15. A GeForce GTX 1660 is also apparently due in March at the even cheaper price of $229 USD. Plus a GeForce GTX 1650 taking over the 1050 Ti price range - which is also rumoured to be getting a price drop.

In terms of performance and specs rumours point to the GTX 1660 Ti featuring a TU116 GPU, 1,536 CUDA cores and 6GB of GDDR6 memory. Which in terms of memory is the same as the GeForce RTX 2060 but with that card upping the CUDA count to 1,920 CUDA cores.

Of course all of the above, including model names, specs, and price points - even if they come from reliable sources - could still change.
