A new Xbox One revision is rumoured to be in the works for next year. One that will carry a smaller price-tag than the current Xbox One S, in a disc-free digital-only build. Designed no doubt to be paired alongside an Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live subscription.
Which, when looking at the focus Microsoft has been putting on Game Pass, its subscription service that has most if not all first-party releases - it sounds like a decent idea. The rumours also point to a planned 'disc to digital' service that will allow players to trade disc copies of games for digital versions.
It's worth noting that going disc-free is something that Microsoft has been rumoured to be cooking up for quite sometime now, but mostly in reference to its next-gen 'Scarlett' console. If this disc-free Xbox One does make it our way next year, it will effectively become the Game Pass console.
