Who knew that skipping a single year would have us excited to hear about the next Assassin's Creed game, expected this holiday with a full reveal next month at E3. In a new report over at
WWG, word from "Ubisoft sources" have stated that the next game will not only take place in Egypt but feature a large open world and progression similar to Bethesda's Skyrim.
Which admittedly would be awesome. Since Assassin's Creed 2, we've always wondered what that style of game in the mold of a Bethesda RPG would look like. According to these sources the game will also go by the name of 'Assassin’s Creed Origins' and like Syndicate feature both a male and female protagonist. The story is rumoured to cover the rise of the original assassin's guild, and will feature the largest world for an Assassin's Creed game to date. The play area is also touted as extending beyond Egypt with naval combat in the Mediterranean, and a possible Greece cameo.
Less linear, open world, Skyrim-like exploration, roaming the seas, Egypt, it's certainly sounding very cool. Whatever the case may be we can't wait to see what Ubisoft has in store for the next Assassin's Creed game proper.
